Imbecile Drug Policy

As a libertarian I think people should be free to put in their bodies what they want. Whether it’s alcohol or ecstasy. It’s your own responsibility. Yet in Thailand more than 50% of the prison population (90000 people, a small city) is there because of drugs such as ecstasy. How dumb is that? What an enormous waste of lives, money and productivity for the country. And how many of those inmates are innocent gay Asian boys who have their future destroyed because of a spell in prison?
