The right to think and say what you want is a precious thing, even more so for journalists. So it is a dissapointment if somebody like Jakrapob Penkair is trying to mess with the Thai media. It is to be expected of a dictatorship, but not from a democratic government. The story in the Bangkok Post is somewhat muddled, but his interference does not bode well. Previously he was mulling the blocking of hi5.com, which is especially popular with the gay Asian crowd. I wonder why nothing is heard of that anymore? Did he hear the crowd’s whispers?
